The Practice is governed by the Ethics and Code of Practice of the RIBA and the Architect's Registration Board. The term 'Architect' may only be used by registered members and Clients should be reassured by this benchmark.

The Practice was established in Hartlepool in 1973 under the original name of Lancashire Smith & Partners.

The Practice has recently relocated office to the prestigious new development at The Innovation Centre, Queens Meadow Business Park, just off the A689.

The Practice is led by David Johnson, BA(Hons), ACIOB, and Andrew Riley, RIBA, who have been in business together since 1994 and have a wealth of experience between them, backed by a dedicated, innovative team of architects, technicians and administrative support staff.

We invest extensively in our fantastic team; they are our finest asset, with regular CPD seminars to maintain awareness of contemporary construction methods.

Our office boasts an on-site gym with staff membership and a “chill-out” room to unwind. In June 2005 we were awarded Investors in People recognition for our commitment to the team members and our constant striving for excellence in all our procedures. Following reassessment in June 2008, we again achieved Investors in People status, for our continuing development of the team.
