The photographs here show the Chapel of a Hartlepool Secondary School, before and after refurbishment. The original Chapel was considered to be uninviting and old fashioned by the students, who were consulted as part of the design process. The resulting design clearly provided a more stimulating and contemporary environment, which became adaptable for use by the students and staff in a variety of forms, by the introduction of retractable screens which can divide the area into two spaces.
