The photographs here show the refurbishment of student toilets in a Hartlepool secondary school. The design of the toilet areas was compiled in conjunction with the upper school students, who identified specific concerns with the existing arrangements, which led the toilets being used infrequently, especially by the female students. The resulting design is again contemporary in it's design, utilising high quality, low maintenance materials, to ensure that the environment maintains it's high quality feel. The use of lighting design has also contributed to much more attractive environment. The high standard of finish has been embraced by the students who accordingly respect the environment, and subsequently, vandalism has been virtually eliminated.
