The brief for this project was to provide a Master Bedroom suite; kitchen/day-living area; home gym; study and utility all with a ‘wow’ factor. The original property was a standard Bellway house type, which our client wished to extend by more than 50% to create a more bespoke residence to suit their requirements. A Master Suite was created incorporating unconventional curved walls and vaulted ceilings with raised floor areas creating definition to the usage of space. The Master Suite comprised of a dressing room with bespoke wardrobe fittings to suit the unconventional room shapes; an en-suite shower room with a bespoke vanity unit and a large ‘wet-room’ shower area, with twin rainforest shower heads.
The Master Suite enjoys open views over countryside via French doors opening onto a Juliet balcony, which floods the space with light.
The Ground floor areas were extended to form a large open plan kitchen/dining/day room area, which again is flooded with natural daylight and enjoys views over open countryside. We worked closely with the client to advise on kitchen design and wall and floor finishes and lighting. A particular feature of the kitchen area is the contoured ceiling detail, which incorporates dimmable halogen lighting, which can create varying ambiances, depending on the usage of the space.
The completed project provides a contemporary living space marrying detailed design with practical living.
